Kurti Open Letter to Prosecution Against Thaci and Wessel

Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti has said that Pristina's Founding Prosecutor has engulfed a graveier, since even after a month they haven't given any information about the indictment he has filed against Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel for false congratulating when they testified in the case of the People's Office. [...]
According to Kurt, even a month later, it is still not known whether any decision has been made to open the investigation.
“30 days of grave silence, no action, no information from the Founding Prosecutor in Pristina. This inaction and non-information of criminal connoisseurs is direct pressure on citizens to remain silent before institutional crime, especially those on the top of state institutions. But that's not what the prosecution thinks, it's not there to fight crime, but to protect it from the citizens, Kurti wrote.
Full response:
Open Letter
Today, it was a month from the day of presenting our criminal outcry against the president of Kosovo and the Speaker of the Assembly.
On April 25, 2019, at the Department of Internal Crime in Pristina we made criminal charges against Mr. Hashim Thaci and Mr. Kadri Wessel, for false announcement or confession, according to the meaning of Article 382, par. 1, 2 and 4, and false statements under oath, according to Article 383, par. 1 and 2, of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code (KPRK) No. 06/L-174.
None of us called. We don't know if the decision has been made to open the investigation. If the witness interrogation has begun. Despite the fact that we are in the procedure and according to the Kosovo Criminal Procedure Code we have the right to be informed about the process we have no information so far.
30 days of dead silence, no action, no information from the Founding Prosecutor in Pristina. This inaction and non-information of criminal connoisseurs is direct pressure on citizens to remain silent before institutional crime, especially those on the top of state institutions. But that's not what the prosecution thinks, it's not there to fight crime, but to protect it from citizens.
The act of opening the investigation into statements at the December 28th 2018 court hearing under the official duty as the legal obligation should make the prosecutor a case. Silence. And if it's not exactly silence, it's just a handshake.
It may be that our interest in the actions taken by the prosecution in the case will qualify as intervention in justice. But this is the popular refrain of institutional irresponsability that speaks when it's not needed, since it doesn't act when it's needed.
We're waiting. And we won't be silent.
