Kosovo- Albania to begin implemented by next month

By the end of June, all four agreements reached last year are expected to be concluded at the Kosovo Government and Albanian collection. That is what has been said after the end of the second co-ordination meeting between the two governments that today have been held in Tirana. Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, national co-ordinator Fatmir [...]
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj at the same time, after the end of the meeting, said it was a very concrete and contemplative meeting, and that from this meeting it has come up with many optimists from what awaits both at the future.
He said it will not only be limited to the realisation of these agreements, but we will always go to the function of facilitating the lives of citizens around the border.
“has been a long, very concrete, very contextary meeting, and I can say we're happy to expect to complete all that we've said in the six-month deal, such as the driver's license agreement. Since today citizens of Tirana and Pristina can go and apply for driver's license, this is over. Roaming has been warned on June 15th, the phase until 2021 will be completely closed, 90 per cent citizens of Kosovo and Albania will have cheaper rates. The circulation of citizens through Kosovo and Albania by respecting the international agreement, the technical difficulties that we have made to resolve these coming days, we have no other problems. The fourth agreement has been the customs point in Durres, as well as during the implementation of this agreement, there have been technical problems with which directors have reported to us today and now I believe we will not have such problems. I'm pleased to tell you that for the first time, we have concrete realisation of those agreements we have reached at Pec”, Limaj said.
Deputy Prime Minister Limaj has also talked about future projects that Kosovo will have with Albania.
“we agreed to create a working team for project T AP, Kosovo is already interested in obtaining information and preparing for our territory classification. We don't want to wait until the last minute, we will carry out our duties to create the Republic of Kosovo's territory classification network project and want that ranking to go and take it directly from Albania's territory. These are ideas we are designing that are important for economic developments between Kosovo and Albania”, Limaj said.
Asked that in addition to the technical and contractual aspects of border, customs and romingu, whether there is any interference from any international institution, Limaj said as two states are finding points that are in full co-ordination with the EU.
“not, absolutely we are respecting our international obligations. First you have to understand that we here have obligations, obligations as separate states, we don't allow Albania to be in difficult positions, but not Albania. We are finding points that are in full co-ordination with the EU. Everything we are in the function of our strategic vision towards European integrations means by respecting our state, interstate obligations as two independent subjects and by respecting our international contracts we have”, he said.
Meanwhile, Albania's deputy prime minister, Erion Brace, said that from this meeting they have identified part of the agreements that have already been met, as long as they have discussed problems.
He said they have all the political or executive will to meet all the agreements reached in Pec and go further.
We will have to face each of these problems in the coming weeks, especially those directly related to the movement of goods and people not only from Durres Port, but also from the Morina border points. To build up the economic space that enables both of our countries to better serve the citizens of Kosovo and the citizens of Albania, a very important aspect for them, in increasing their welfare in their respective countries, or in this common economic space. Of course, we have inherited the problem which directly relates to the way the subjects are treated by economic operators in the port of Durres, or the customs of Morina. It's the old story we've been discussing and overdisputing that we've been talking about over and over and over and over and over with the concession contracts for scanning the tools on our access plate. We will have to face strongly the very problem that the contract has caused in order to solve once and for all the very problems stemming from that” contract, Brace said.
He said that from the point of view of time spent on the opening points and from the point of view of the financial cost, which, according to him, are not inconsistent for economic operators who then turn into costs for the services that citizens receive.
Brace said it would take commitment both political and executive by the Government of Albania to analyse this contract to the end, in order to put an end to this story being recycled at the entry points and there are costs for economic operators from Kosovo and Albania.
Asked about the issue of electricity exporting what is happening, Deputy Prime Minister Brace said this problem involving the energy community in Vienna stems from Serbia's insistence on the issue.
This is a problem directly related to the energy community in Vienna, we are discussing with them this problem that stems directly from Serbia's insistence on the issue. Therefore, we will need even there to strengthen our effort in order to finally release this space or this corridor for the transfer of energy between our countries, he said.
