The International Handball Federation (IHF) has reacted immediately after the letter sent to the Kosovo Handball Federation, in terms of discrimination during the World Juniors' shorts ceremony held in July in Spain.
Spaniards at the lots ceremony have not shown the Kosovo flag, but have presented Kosovo with FHK's logo.
The FHK lets it know that her reaction was immediate and harsh and the IHF has not stood by, transmits Time.net.
In a letter IHF General Director Amal Khalifa has sent to the FHK address on Thursday, it has become clear that Spain will receive the right to organize the world championship if it does not guarantee that Kosovo flag and anthem will appear during this big event.
Spanish authorities have until the beginning of June to provide this guarantee. If this does not happen, then the world championship will be held in another country.
Thus the IHF has stood up for equal treatment of all participating countries worldwide.
We want to inform you that the IHF is in close contact with the Spanish Handball Federation and the Spanish Olympic Committee. The IHF has clearly communicated to the Spanish Handball Federation and Spain's Olympic Committee that your national flag should appear, and your national anthem should be recorded during the 2019 Junior World Championship. The IHF has extended until early June for the organiser to ensure the conditions mentioned. On the contrary, the World Junior Championship will be awarded another national federation. Of course, we'll inform you of the news”, says IHF's letter, confirms FHK.
