Hahn: Recommunication of Albania's Negotiations

European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn during the presentation of progress-reports to the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee said Albania has followed reforms to radical transformation of the justice system.

This is also an example for other countries.

Both countries have made progress. On this basis the commission recommends opening negotiations for both countries. The main condition is reform in justice”, Hahn said.

According to him, the Western Balkan countries' economy still has substantial shortages to address.

“has high migration and birth rate reduction. The European Union remains the biggest partner of the Western Balkans, but we have to consider China's growing investment, which very often neglects the socioeconomic and financial sustainability of countries where it invests”, Hahn said.
