Deda: After elections in the EU there must be rigorous conditions for Western Balkans

Kosovo MP Ilir Deda has commented on the European Parliament elections.

Deda said that with the results coming up, liberals and Democrats should be concrete and mandated.

Now that, more or less, the trend of votes for the European Parliament is seen, it can be estimated that the EU policy, or its lack, towards Kosovo and the states of the Western Balkans can no longer hide behind fears of the extreme right, which suffered debacle. On the contrary, with the excellent results of greeners and liberals and Democrats, the policy of enlargement must be concrete and mandated. The EU should give serious enlargement bids to the states of our region. And this offer should also contain rigorous conditions for any Western Balkan state: democratic governance and free media, state-rule and rule of law, genuine corruption, justice and equality, as well as real economic development”, writes Deda.
