Three young men beat out a school principal in Skenderaj, says they were religious extremists

Technical High School Director “Anton Ceta” in Skenderaj, Agron Istog, was physically attacked by three people yesterday at his workplace. He has suffered bodily injuries, and then he has accepted medical treatment. The director of the municipal school and police management has also been notified of the attack. The attackers are on the run. [...]

Agron Istog was beaten yesterday by three people who are not students of the school “Anton Cheta”. Teachers who were threatened with firearms from attackers were also involved in the clashes.

Agron Istog mentions two reasons that have influenced physical assault.

You mention the attackers are religious extremists. It links this fact with precise regulations that do not allow religious elements in school clothing and appearances.

The second reason, he says, is that he has not allowed students to smoke inside the school, and during his beating one of the attackers has told him that he has not allowed his brother to smoke.

And all three people have been with long beards and short pants and I doubt that these people have attacked me for reasons that I have strictly observed regulations and beards I haven't left in school, so I think that's why”, says Istog.

The other reason the director mentions it is smoking.

We have 10 students we've been warning about smoking. Yesterday, an attack told me you beat my brother, but I know he has no brother. I have warned the students who smoke. Their problem was beards, not tobacco”, the director further confessed.

Director Istog, the attackers are calling them obelistes, according to him, the same ones have beaten Azem Deliu.

I've heard about them, and they're beating writer Azem Deliu, they're religious extremists. These are not students ' parents who are religious extremists, that our school does not allow them with headscarves and beards. We have left me with beards, with these extreme”, he says.

Also informed is the director of the Education Municipal Directorate in Skenderaj, Bekim Latifi.

According to Latif, the motive for beating is smoking.

“Motive has nothing to do with moral motives, it has to do with discipline and regulation”, he says.

“found students smoking, smoking banned. The director must've pulled them out. He's been yelling at you for smoking. They've been telling us how to let it happen at home to use tobacco, they've said it's the same way”, says Latifi.

Latifi said the attackers have threatened with guns from teachers and students at school.

“Rest happened yesterday, is the principal attack at the school workplace by three people. They're not students at school, they've attacked without organized confirmation. Now ours included the educators, has threatened with weapons, collectives, nurses, educators”, Latif told Gazeta Express.

The event was filmed by the school security cameras. These images are being taken by the police.

The case of the technical school director's beating in Skenderaj is mentioned in the 24-hour Kosovo Police report. Police do not announce the attackers have been detained, but the case is being investigated as “assault on the official person”.

“Skennderaj 24.05.2019-1400. The male K-Albanian victim has reported that three male K-Albanian suspects physically attacked him, triggering fingerprints on his finger and guning him. The victim has accepted medical treatment. The case is being investigated by revolutionary police units”, police said.

According to Agron Istog, the attackers are the people with initials, A. J, L.V. and H. RR. He reported these details to the police.
