People in Europe have to work much less hours in order to avoid catastrophic climate warming until something is undertaken for radical designation of the economy, one study says.
Research, from a think tank called Atuttonomia, indicates that the worker in the United Kingdom must spend nine hours a week working to maintain this level of carbon intensity. Similar reductions have also been found necessary in Sweden and Germany, reports The Guardian.
The findings are based on O data The ECD and the UN in the industry's gas emissions in these three countries. It says that at current carbon levels, all three would require drastic reduction of working hours, as well as urgent measures of defuelling the economy to prevent climate destruction.
Will Stronge, director of Attonomi, said the research stressed the need to include reductions in working hours as part of efforts to address climate emergency.
There is an increase in support in the United States and Europe for the so-called New Green Agreement, which attempted to defuel up the economy, creating safer and more stable jobs. /Periscope
