According to climbing officials, most victims have lost their lives because of their physical weakness, excessive fatigue, and delays along the way to the 850m - high peak.

Robin Fisher, 41, died in the so-called “death zone”, known for its small oxygen level. The news revealed Mira Acarya, official of the tourist department. He is the eighth person to lose his life in the current climbing season, which ends this month.

“He died due to weakness after his long climb and difficult release. He was launching with the local aides when all of a sudden he came along”, she added.

Garret Madison from the company “Madison Mountainering”, which sponsors climbers who climb the May of Everest, said many were not adequately qualified and equipped. According to him, they did not have the support needed to climb and be released safely.

“If they were together with a powerful and experienced team, they would likely have been saved, but with minimal support, things hardly return to the right place when something went wrong”, he said.

The summit of Everest can also be reached through the Tibetan plateau and there have been reports that there were victims from that part as well this year, writes “Reuters”.
