Wessel ) prosecutors: Hit high profile corrupts, don't pity them

Prime Minister Kadri Veselini has invited prosecutors and judges to investigate corruption in Kosovo. He voiced confidence that there are judges in our country who have called them heroes who will file charges even against those high profile politicians. Wessel said there are corrupt politicians in Kosovo who must be brought to justice. He reminded prosecutors and judges of their responsibility, adding that he is obliged to deal with corruption cases. The fact is that the judiciary must be impartial, I strongly believe that in our system of reforms that have occurred in the last part and with the capacities it currently has, there is possibility, courage and so-called heroes who will come out in Kosovo and set up charges for people whose high profiles and policies, which are, must, corrupt”, Veselin said.

The prime minister said corruption cannot stop the internationals, but we have to do it ourselves. According to him, corruption is undermining the Kosovo state's perspective. He said sometimes judges and prosecutors should also be sanctioned in order to carry out their work. No one can stop us from corruption, despite these internationals who come and talk. We need him to stop by myself. We can stop corruption. Everyone, without mercy, will benefit from being tolerated. Neither politics nor judges. To stop corruption are concrete steps to reduce this space for people to be corrupt, since the politician we've got plenty of corruption and talk mostly. Judges and prosecutors must also be sanctioned at times in order to carry out their work, for themselves the fact that the judiciary should be impartial”, Veselin said.

The Speaker of the Parliament said people are leaving Kosovo, not only because of the country's socioeconomic situation, but because they have lost confidence in institutions, adding that it is everyone's duty to restore citizens' trust.
