VV: Kosovo costs too much to a unable prosecutor

The Vetevendosje movement prior to Friday's warning protest before the State Prosecution, through a media conference, has given the reasons why they have chosen this country to protest PANhenia.

MP Albulen Haxhiu has said chief state prosecutor Alexander Lumezi has failed to deliver the two promises given before his appointment in this position: Fighting crime and corruption and investigating war crimes.

“PanHynia wouldn't be standing and it wouldn't be in power if there was a prosecutor's action on government scandals... instead of presenting a platform against organised crime and corruption chief prosecutor Lumez mentioned two public promises: The first was fighting organised crime and corruption that never occurred, and the second was investigating war crimes that also never dealt seriously with war crimes”, Haxhiu said.

Haxhiu said that as a result of the lack of a real prosecutor, Kosovo continues to be the poorest country because of corruption. For this very reason, Haxhiu says Kosovo citizens are leaving the country. According to her, corruption is happening before the prosecution's eyes.

Haxhiu has been addressing several public questions to Chief Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi, including whether there have been investigations, as she says, of public money spending on President Hashim Thaci's personal book.

“Where investigations for the government's decision to raise salaries for themselves are stuck. Why it is difficult for the prosecution to file an indictment in this case, for this offense it is extremely simple. That one year the Haradinaj government is under investigation by the prosecution and there is still no indictment for this country. Have there been investigations into the prime minister's favour making his people? There have been investigations into the 53 million donated Bektel Enkas if the investigation has arrived. Have there been investigations into the harmful contract Contour Global through which several laws were violated, and where they agreed that public property would be illegally sold 10 hectares for 10 euros. There have been investigations into abuses reported by the Ministry of Agriculture with subsidies. Or the last case of former brother Nenad Rikallos, without even going to work, has been paid by the state. Have there been investigations into the expenses of public money for Hashm Thaci's personal book and the lobbiing of the project for territorial exchange”, Haxhiu asks.

She has asked whether there were even investigation into employment abuse in PTK, investigation into illegal stonebreakers, the theft of dancers from Z. RRE, war crimes investigation, sexual assault, violence against women. And more.

Haxhiu shot that Kosovo costs a lot to a chief prosecutor who doesn't act.

And Vetevendosje GP chief Glauk Konjufca has responded to the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, which has called the law intervention warned the VV protest before the State Prosecutor.

Konjufca said it is surprising how such an institution does not understand the basic right to peaceful protest.
