Special police have secured an escape at Pristina airport, and a flag-flagged United States of America is seen at the airport until the jihadists' family has returned to Kosovo.
The “Operation planned to restore some of our citizens from Syria has successfully completed”, Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said from the airport in the early hours of Saturday morning. He added that all details of this will be given during a news conference during today.
More than 300 Kosovars, men, women and children had travelled to Syria after 2012. About 70 men who fought alongside extremist military groups were killed.
Police have said that about 150 women and children, including 60 children, were born in war zones that were occupied in areas lost from the Islamic State (ISIS).
Still unclear is whether all of them have returned on Friday. Neither the minister nor the police have provided much details if there are any warriors among the returnees who have fought with I SIS.
