According to the PSD, the tragic case in Mitrovica, where 27-year-old worker Visar Behrami lost his life in the workplace, shows once again that workers in Kosovo are treated scandalously and that they have no security at all.
The central country, in many cases even the local country, is not worrying about this alarming situation as such cases become commonplace. Workers without employment contracts, without job security, with insufficient wages for basic and long - term work, have no state care and protection. On the other hand, there are local and central institutions that close their eyes to the strong who are tolerated to violate laws and exploit workers in the function of their financial capital”, the PSD communiqué says.
According to the PSD, the case in Mitrovica is unfortunately evidence of this.
“is an example of the irresponsability of local governance, which was allowing for free construction between the city, under which a worker died. It's also a reflection of the need to increase the number of inspectors, to become a priority worker's security and welfare, and to establish order in construction”.
The PSD, deeply affected by this death, expresses the most sincere condolences of the Behram family and all the relatives of the victim. At the same time, it requires that responsible bodies place them before the law and condemn the responsibilities of this disaster.
