Pristina analysts, politicians view Berlin Summit

Lack of co-ordination and a common language between President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is considered to be responsible for a major damage to Kosovo at the Berlin Summit that was held yesterday.

While the most negative role in this is to be shared by President Thaci with his idea of restructuring the border with Serbia.

So said on Tuesday during a table organised by GSJP, attended by the chiefs of parliamentary groups, where they discussed direction and expectations from the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue following meetings under the Franco-German summit in Berlin. There it was said that it was good that, at last, the Berlin Summit served to attract the remarks for agreement.

Kryeziu's progress by GSJP said the analysis is aimed at discussing and interpreting the Kosovo Government's decisions on setting the tariff and idea of mending the border, which sees as obstacles to dialogue seen from Brussels' perspective.

As for the Berlin Summit, Kryeziu said he is testifying that Germany and France have begun to play the key role in this process, thus expressing a distrust of Brussels.

While LDK parliamentary group chief Avdullah Hoti said he would not rush to call the Berlin Summit a distrust of Brussels, as this summit, according to him, has managed to calm the bloods of the two leaders -- the Kosovo and Serbia's -- that only through dialogue will an agreement be reached.

According to him, the country's president Hashim Thaci has played the most negative role in this phase in which the dialogue process is located.

For that, he said that as long as Thaci plays a key role, dialogue with Serbia must be avoided. He stressed that Kosovo's representation of this summit was not worthy and serious, while he called Thaci's speech depressing at yesterday's meeting.

I believe we should appreciate the role of Germany and France in this process. I wouldn't have rushed to call it a lack of trust in Brussels, but as a new moment. I believe that internal dynamics in Kosovo cannot help contain an underlying dialogue. Apart from the status-opposy differences, we have also seen differences within the coalition. The most negative role in this process was played by the president, with the idea of border correction. We must admit that the damage has been done, created social uncertainty in the country and in consolidating Kosovo's citizenship in the international arena. We are interested in having agreements with Serbia, but it is not vital to reach a” agreement, he said.

Vetevendosje Movement GP chief Glauk Konjufca said the biggest damage at the Berlin Summit is the disordination of Kosovo representatives at this meeting. According to him, political instability in Kosovo makes it necessary for Kosovo citizens to install a new state co-ordination.

This has damaged Kosovo, as it has not occurred at such a high-level meeting, Kosovo will be represented with two completely different voices. On the one hand, the president with his idea of reforming the border, and on the other side with the prime minister who declares himself against the president, instead of coming up with a solution, it is a huge damage. This is especially about the president, who has decided questions about our country. I found this Sam to be among the few world summits where everyone was unhappy. Merkel seemed unhappy with our president, and Macro was disappointed with our prime minister. While our president seemed unhappy with both of these”, he said.

While the head of the Initiative's parliamentary group, Billall the Sheriff, said the part of the Berlin Summit discussion where he or this one is talking is gossip. According to him, the agreement should be fair or not done at all.

“What the message makes is the official statement that the parties have agreed to continue the dialogue. I saw nothing more. Why it's only come to this definition, we have nothing new, we're in the same positions. They want to continue dialogue with Mogher or her successor. What we had expected was to close issues that we cannot close by ourselves, and that is the idea of partitioning Kosovo. Correcting the border is instrument, not intention. On this level stand unfortunately the Kosovo-Serbia reports, fed from within, even by President Thaci, whom we have fish. We must remove from the agenda either the exchange idea or the correction”, the Sheriff said.

MP The PSD, Wisar Ymer, said an absurd situation is prevalent in Kosovo, as criticism comes from a third voice, which is unwilling to work towards a consensus. For the Berlin Summit, Ymer said the importance lies in Germany and France's interest in the Kosovo dialogue Serbia. In this way, he said a new moment is under way for the Republic of Kosovo, where the internal consensus is very important.

“O view consensus as necessary or not. These two don't go together because they present a kind of schizophrenic”, Ymer said.
