PDK candidate: We will permanently erase illegal structures in the north

The northern Mitrovica municipality mayorial candidate from PDK ranks Gonge Chaushi has indicated that the challenges, problems and demands facing northern citizens of Mitrovica have prompted her to run for mayors of northern Mitrovica in the extraordinary elections to be held on 19 [...]

She in an interview for Kosova Prees, says her government programme included building the homes of Albanians of that part, which were destroyed during the war, developing infrastructure, scholarships for students, and similar ones, as she targeted the return of Albanian residents displaced by their properties as a first step in realising its governing programme.

Caushi has largely described the current security situation in northern Mitrovica, though she has cited several minor incidents, which she said are isolated.

As far as co-operation with the Serb community is concerned, she said she is trying to work for good reports, always because of the citizens' interest, although, as she put it, interest from the other side is not much reflected in the situation.

According to her, much work must be done to eliminate illegal structures in that part, to convince them that the laws and Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo must be respected.

She promised to find forms and ways for these structures to be removed forever.

Voicing optimism about her victory in the May 19th elections, Caushi's candidate for mayor, added that it would be best for Albanians to compete in these united elections and with a single candidate.

Chaushi said that during the campaign, but even on election day, everything will go smoothly and properly until he has ordered citizens to go out as many as they can vote that day.

Gonge Chaushi was born on March 1st 1992 in northern Mitrovica, the master of the economy, who works as an adviser to the Ministry of Innovation, simultaneously adviser at the Municipal Assembly in northern Mitrovica.
