Today at the summit of the High Level Forum for Co-ordination of Foreign Donations, Minister of Internal Affairs Ekrem Mustafa stressed that the ministry he heads pays attention to the foreign investment issue, investments by international partners, including donations.
“donations are more than a political signal. Donations are the means of taxpayers from countries that have shown willingness to help develop our country. In this respect, responsibility to projects that benefit from donations is not merely professional because, as such, it is also a matter of moral conscience”, Mustafa wrote.
Below parts of his Facebook post:
The Ministry of Internal Affairs currently benefits in several segments. The Civil Recording Agency's ongoing twinning project with Dutch and Lithuanian partners. These two friendly states have recently invested in Project “supporting Civil Record and Document Security”. Donation here exceeds 5m euros. By December 7th of last year, I signed an agreement on donations to the INL and the American ICITAP. We've been taking advantage of this deal since the beginning. There are various vehicles and equipment that have gone to improve the quality of work among agencies operating under the authority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On March 18th, I had the satisfaction of welcoming US Assistant Secretary Madison, who once again saw the American commitment to seeing the Republic of Kosovo as a powerful partner in law enforcement. Assistant Secretary Madison's visit was crowned with several million donations to the Kosovo Agency of Forenzice.
