Within a month 42 homes for the Roma community

Kosovo's government is dedicated to a better welfare for the Roma community, with which within a month it will build 42 homes for families from this community. As this number grows in six months.

So it was made known today on the occasion of marking the Day of the Roma Community, at a cocktail case organised by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's office.

Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj said the progress and integration of the Roma community are priorities of the Government of Kosovo, as he said, they have been part of the country's freedom process of statehood, living historically through centuries, along with the people of Kosovo.

He said that in the past 10 years, Kosovo has noted achievements in the inclusion of the Roma community, where more concrete progress has marked Prizren.

“We are very proud, that compared to other European countries, Roma as a community each time have had a strong and powerful voice in the Kosovo Assembly, representing, and also, are represented in central and local-level institutions. So this holiday is all in Kosovo, especially this community... In these 10 years, we have had concrete achievements for the Roma community's involvement in all areas of life, including not only education, but also employment, and social welfare, health and more secure and longer-term residence”, he said.

MP Albert Kinoll from the United Roma Party of Kosovo said they feel proud to be part of state institutions, representing in the Assembly, in Government, as well as in other institutions, with whom he expressed gratitude to Kosovo institutions for the continued support of the Roma community in Kosovo.

He also spoke of the project, which will help increase Roma welfare, with the occasion of building 42 homes for them.

By the end of this month, and early next month, members of the Roma community will benefit the construction of 42 houses, with the help of Finance Minister Bedri Hamza and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, that after the sixth month, this number of house construction will increase. Also, the Roma community is the beneficiary of an infrastructure project from Prizren, in the New Life district, where the Kosovo government will finance 150,000 euros for the construction of this road. The position of the Roma community from day to day is improving”, Kinoll said.
