Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has accepted the invitation by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron to attend the summit of Balkan leaders to be held at the end of this month in Berlin.
President Thaci's office has confirmed this.
“Yes, President Thaci has received an invitation from Chancellor Merkel and President Macron to attend the summit held in Berlin”, said in response to President Thaci's Information Office.
The European Union's two most powerful states have decided to meet Balkan state leaders next Monday, April 29th, in Berlin.
The example of co-operation between the governments of Germany and France aims to help promote co-operation among countries of the region, especially in major political themes, such as the Kosovo dialogue Serbia.
Following the successful resolution of the name issue between northern Macedonia and Greece, the focus of European decisionmakers has shifted to preparations for the last stage of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which includes this meeting in Berlin on Monday.
