After more than nine hours of fiery battle, firemen managed to control the fire that involved much of the Nore Dame de Paris cathedral.
French authorities said they managed to escape two of the cathedral towers and the rock structure of the 850-year-old Gothic building.
The causes of the fire are not yet disclosed, but investigators said they are investigating accidental arson, which relates to the fact that part of the cathedral was undergoing a renovation.

Meanwhile, it is reported that during the nine-hour shooting battle, one of the firefighters has suffered serious injuries and has been sent to the hospital for the necessary medical treatment.
Speaking from the cathedral in flames, in the early hours of Tuesday, President Emmanuel Macron named the tragic event, but identified as very important the fact that its structure was saved.

“We will rebuild the cathedral all together and it will undoubtedly remain one of the main destinations of Paris”, Macron said, announcing that he will soon open an international fund collection scheme to restore the famous capital Notre Dame.
Meanwhile, French billionaire Francois-Henry Pinault, owner and CEO of Kering group, which includes the famous fashion lines -- Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent -- has pledged a 100m-euro donation to the reconstruction of Notre Dame de Paris.
The French Heritage Fund has also launched an international fund-gathering campaign for reconstruction of the cathedral, which is also part of U's world heritage. NESTO.
The fire in the Paris Cathedral fell about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and very soon it included windows and the whole wooden part inside it, causing its dome to fall.

About 500 firefighters were involved in the operation, who showed tremendous courage in the battle with the flames, enabling the destruction of the cathedral structure.
