KMDLNj: Serbia has legalised blackmail and threats

KMDLNj has reacted after the ban on Serdjan Jovanovic, adviser to Kosovo Prime Minister, on the part of Serbian authorities. They say this arrest is politically motivated and that it wants to deliver a clear message, that this fate awaits all who oppose Serbia's policy in Kosovo and who are not in a line with the Serbian List.

Autorities have legalised blackmail and threats against Kosovo's loyal Serbs by stopping them at borderpoints, arresting them, either members of the KSF, Kosovo Police, politicians, MPs and other positions, and forcing them to withdraw from Kosovo institutions and, in case of opposition, assaulting them with firearms, destroying property or placing explosive tools<1> in response.

KMDLNj considers Jovanovic's arrest an arbitrary arrest and a serious violation of human rights, against freedom of speech, freedom of movement and voluntary determination for organisation and political action.

KMDLNI invites all relevans to judge this violent act of institutions of Serbia against Kosovo citizens of ethnic Serb affiliation, which have been integrated or want to integrate into Kosovo institutions and Kosovo society.

This continued manifestation of Serbia's violence against Kosovo Serb citizens has created frightening conditions for the elections in four Serb majority municipalities, so, besides the Serbian List, all Kosovo Serb parties have refused to participate in these elections. That's why, KMDLNu considers these elections unfair for the fact that no security has been provided to all political subjects and individuals to compete in equal conditions”, the statement follows.
