The Council for Protection, Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted after the tragic case that occurred yesterday in Mitrovica, where a 28-year-old lost his life after a part of the former Adriatic hotel was being renovated.
In Reaction KMDLNj also mentions the collapse of an object of residence that was being built in Fushe Kosovo, which happened yesterday.
KMDLNj says that in Kosovo, workers are neither provided for work, have no labour contracts nor health insurance.
Currently, in Kosovo today, there is no news whether any worker is injured, is permanently disabled for work, or even loses his life for the fact that the employer doesn't provide employment conditions for employees, they don't have employment contracts, they don't have health insurance and not talk about life insurance. In 99, % of the keys to the workers in 1 % of the cases is symbolically condemned by employers to continue “the death dance “of those who, due to severe economic conditions, are forced to work in extremely dangerous conditions for life, without any security or compensation to families for life loss of”, it is said in response.
The KMDLNj further points out that Kosovo in general and Pristina in particular have become part-time construction shipyards, on holiday days, on holiday days, in serious atmosphere conditions and even working at night without any consideration for the safety and tranquillity of citizens.
KMDLN, among other things, has announced that for this reason it has met with the Kosovo Labour Inspectorate to find a way out of this situation which, day, is becoming more difficult and unbearable.
KMDLNj has requested the removal of a job license for employers who do not provide conditions for jobs with which employees' lives are threatened. Also, KMDLNj has demanded that money sentences be much higher and that those collected means create a Fond for those who suffer and their families.
For an employer that circulates tens of millions of euros in the construction field, the sentence of 5 or 10,000 euros is the penalty for coffee, so there are repeated cases. It is amazing that even after all lives lost because of working conditions, no one will be accountable to the law. The state must find a way that families who lose their family member should compensate for and have a pension, no less than the salary of a construction worker. Either it has to toughen the fines in case of loss of lives or injuries, or it has to raise taxes for construction permits and that some of it will be poured into the Fund of construction victims, but also in other jobs where the responsibility is of employer”, there are other favors highlighted. KMDLNj.
