The official Kremlin said leaders will discuss de-learisation, but Kim is also expected to seek support from Russia following disagreements created with the United States, Kosovo broadcasts.
Kim Jong and Donald Trump in their talks failed to reach an agreement on the North Korean nuclear programme.
“I am convinced that your visit to Russia today will help us better understand how we can resolve the situation on the Korean peninsula and what Russia can do to support the positive processes currently occurring”, Putin said.
While Jong is a highly useful “meeting in the development of relations between the two countries, which have a long friendship and history”.
