The maximum sentence he could receive from this court is 12 months, Reuters broadcasts.
The judge said Assange will be sent before the tribunal on 12 June, when the US request for his extradition will be considered.
Assange, who was arrested today at the Ecuador Embassy in London, was declared not guilty before surrendering to judicial authorities.
He was arrested after the Ecuador government revoed asylum. President Lenin Moreno said the decision has been made since Assang has repeatedly violated international conventions.
Assange was at the Ecuador Embassy in London since 2012, with the goal of avoiding extradition to Sweden, where it is required for sexual abuse.
He has dismissed the accusations and shows fears that Sweden would extradite him to the US to face charges of uncovering military and diplomatic documents.
