What will happen after visa vote in Holland

Albanian citizens will continue to move free to the countries marked according to the modern practice and by meeting only the conditions currently in force.

An EU member state could ask the European Commission to open the procedure for suspending visa free movement only on the basis of well-defined conditions in EU legislation, and no condition is met for submitting this request from the Netherlands for Albania.

However, it is the European Commission that will consider the request and answer it. Judging objectively, according to facts and official figures, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is faithful that the resolution in question cannot find support in the European Commission, as none of the criteria leading to the application of the provisional suspension mechanism has been met in Albania's case.

The illegal migration of Albanian citizens towards the Netherlands has steadily declined, while the suspension applies in the event of growth of over 50%. Crime figures also mark content reductions.

Likewise, the last criterion involving co-operation between the two countries' legislative structures has been named excellent both by Albanian and Dutch officials. The government of the Republic of Albania is committed to intensively continuing co-operation with both the Kingdom authorities of the Low Countries and other EU member states to combat illegal cross-border activity.

The electoral climate in the Netherlands certainly has its own impact, and even though we are sorry for Albania's entry into the race party agenda, we have no doubt in the fact that beyond the European election horizon the facts will cease on electoral cliques.

The ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs takes the opportunity to once again appeal to Albanian citizens to respect the completion of necessary documents before the launch of travel to the Schengen countries. /Top Channel/
