Gashi: I'm ready to leave the negotiating team to leave LDK)

There is no secret that dialogue is blocked, it is blocked because of Serbia's demand that we first remove the tax then start talks. It's this request that we took seriously but that there were not 100 other conditions that happened to them earlier and that wait for them to come even when we took off the tax. The moment the platform was voted that day for a couple of weeks forgot the Belgrade tax and began to take care of the platform because the platform now fails the dialogue. I'm guaranteeing that even if we remove the tax they start with new conditions”, Deputy Prime Minister Gashi said.

This decision by the Government of Kosovo on Serbia's goods, Gashi does not see the need to change, only because Serbia is seeking. According to him, Kosovo is ready for dialogue and has condition for recognition between the two states.

“We can remove the tax at any moment that we appreciate is good. But we cannot remove the tax just because it is asking Serbia to enter the dialogue. We are ready for dialogue, we have platforms, we have Ekip Negotiator, we have decisions of three different documents voted in the Assembly even in terms of dialogue, we have no such step from Serbia, except to set conditions. We have the only condition that dialogue is political and should end with recognition”, Gashi said.

Negotiator Team member Dardan Gashi, the country's president's statements, Hashim Thaci, for border correction, has called his private opinion, which he says cannot stop anyone. Gashi has said private opinions should be distinguished from what is defined in the Dialogue Platform. According to him, its content has not been criticised by the opposition either.

As far as content has been concerned there has been no serious criticism because the content is what I believe it represents the entire political spectrum, including the opposition”, he said.

The Democratic League of Kosovo in the dialogue process, according to Gashi, could be included when the dialogue begins. He even says he is willing to release his country to LDK representatives.

“We have said and continue to say every moment that the LDK comes that we personally are willing to leave the country if the LDK comes. Even Limaj as co-chairman and I as a member, of course other members, would be happy to free a country or two or three to include a party like LDK in the dialogue. The dialogue has not yet started means all that has happened so far is preparation. I believe that when the serious phase of dialogue begins, the LDK will be part of this process”, Deputy Prime Minister Gashi stated.

The Negotiator team and the platform for Dialogue is not supported by the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement. As an opposition party, this team has joined the Social Democrat Party, where the delegation's co-chairman is head of this party, Shpend Ahmeti. /eo
