Explosion in Pakistan, 16 dead and dozens wounded

As a result of a powerful explosion that occurred early today in southwest Pakistan, 16 people were killed and 30 others were injured.

“The blast has occurred in Hazargunja, on the outskirts of Quetta, capital of the province of Balocistan”, local police director Abdul Rezzak Cheem said.

It is believed that the objective of the attack was the arrogant community. Cheema pointed out that among the wounded were eight members of the busy community.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, while Pakistani officials fear the number of victims could increase.

The Hazares, who have come from the north of Afghanistan, have long been the target of suicide bombing attacks that the sect-Lashkar Jhangwi group has undertaken.

According to local media claims, Quetta has long been involved in sectarian violence, which has claimed 2,000 lives in the last 10 years.
