Energy crisis deepened in Albania

The energy crisis in Albania continues to deepen due to the serious hydric situation due to the lack of rainfall, where 52% less energy will be produced for the first 6-month of this year than average multi-year output for the same period, writes “Koha Ditore” today. According to official data from the Albanian Electronic Corporation (S.A. K ESH), [...]
According to official data from the Albanian Electronic Corporation (S.A. KESH), the largest energy generator in Albania, in this country, in the first 3-month of this year, in the 3 Drini cascad plants producing 65% of Albania's electricity needs, was produced 694 GWh energy, or 1410 GWh less energy, in proportion to the same period a year ago.
Meanwhile, low production is also reported in the last 3-month of 2018, where, according to the energy balance published by INSTAT (Albanian Statistics Institute), 12.5% of energy was produced less than the same period a year ago.
“Hydrogenergenetic situation, created as a result of unfavourable climate conditions, is expected to have a huge impact on the generation of KESH, which in the first six-month of this year will be around 1033 GWh or 52% less than average multi-year production for the same period”, explains the Albanian Electronic Corporation (S.a. KESH).
