Of the 4839 public officials who were obliged to declare their property in the Anti-Corruption Agency, 64 of them have not respected the legal deadline.
Thus, these public officials have committed legal violations, against which this Agency can initiate criminal defamation in the Prosecutor.
Among the top officials who have declared property after the legal deadline is the deputy. The PDK, Andy Hoti, as well as other senior officials from the Correcting Service, municipalities, Presidency and other institutions, KTV reports.
However, according to the director of the Department for Prevention of Corruption in the Agency, some of these officials have sent the reasons for the delay in declaring property.
Last year, 86 public officials had not declared their property.
The Anti-Corruption Agency against them had been exercising criminal charges of contempt.
But this Agency was not satisfied with the sentences handed down by the courts, even though false statements or contempt could be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
