On the 20th anniversary of the Rezala massacre, 98 victims have been remembered at a memorial academy.
The head of the Skywright municipality, Bekim Jashari, has said that one of the most savage massacres over the civilian population is being commemorated today.
He said that all those who committed the crimes should be punished.
On every anniversary of the pain, we also proudly remember our loved ones. Today we remember one of the most terrible massacres committed in the civilian population. Today we are also reminding those who continue to be extinct. Rezalla was a center of resistance, and this country testifies to the value of her homeland. Kosovo's story is painful, for extraordinary freedom efforts. All those who committed crimes must be punished, for only then will the hearts of our families be at rest. Our people lined up on the right side of KLA”, Jashar said.
On behalf of President Hashim Thaci, his adviser Ismail Syla, who addressed the massacres' families, said they should feel proud after they gave their lives for the country's freedom.
The chairman of the KLA Veterans' Organisation, Hysni Gucati, has spoken on behalf of associations who came out of the war, mentioned that no person has been convicted of this massacre.
This lawn is evidence of what our people have made of sacrifices, the Serbian Army has not saved children, elders and no one, but the population was also set for freedom. For this massacre over the years, Serb criminals have not yet been brought to justice. Rezalla, like Kosovo will always be free”, he said.
MP Blerta Deliu has spoken on behalf of family members, who have said that today those in the most barbarous mind are remembered by Serb forces.
Today, on the 20th anniversary of the Rezalla massacre, we commemorate all martyrs from children to up. We remember today the massacre where innocent citizens were killed. 20 years ago, he experienced the most terrible tragedy. We are gathered here to commemorate the martyrs of freedom. Kosovo will not forget the tragedies and crimes that Serbia has committed in the villages of Izbica, Studies, Krusha, and many localities across the country. 20 years after this state would not take place without the KLA” war, she said.
