In the Commission for Legislation and Mandate, Imunete has been considered the annual report by the Anti-Corruption Agency for 2018.
Anti-Corruption Agency Director Shaip Havolll said 98 per cent of public officials have declared their property until April 1st, when it was the deadline.
“90 indictments have been filed, 56 condemnations in prosecutors have been pronounced concerning criminal charges filed by the agency. These allegations include the case of criminal offences for abuse of official duty, forging false wealth, and so on. The declaration of wealth had 4737 officials, 4660 have declared it, 88 percent of them. 77 have not declared, 15 have long stated it”, he said.
While commission chairman Albulen Haxhiu said they are concerned with the law for preventing conflict of interest, where, according to her, one year has entered into force, but the Pristina municipality does not implement.
During the review of the annual report by the Anti-Corruption Agency, there were also debates over the name of this agency.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Arben Gashi has asked the AKK leader that he thinks the name of the agency is in order and does he think there should be”?
Havolli said he agrees to change the name, as it should be called the agency for preventing corruption.
The Agency is not mine. I agree with the name change. It should be called the Corruption Prevention Agency. It has yet to be empowered, as without investigation it cannot function”, Havolli said.
MP Gashi said it is good to reappointed this institution, as he said there has been confusion in the mission and purpose.
