CEC begins organising extraordinary elections in the North

The Central Election Commission held today meetings chaired by President Valdete Daka over the organisation of extraordinary elections for mayor of northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposaviq and Zvecan.
The CEC meeting comes after President Hashim Thaci announced the 19 May elections in these four municipalities after their mayors coming from the Serbian List, close to Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, resigned long ago.
At Monday's meeting, The CEC made its decision on setting election timelines for extraordinary elections in these four municipalities.
The application of political subjects and candidates will begin on April 9th and will end on April 18th, the certificates and publication of political subjects and candidates will take place on April 22nd, casting lots for the rankings in the balloting on April 28th.
The deadline for determining campaign spending is April 12th, until the election campaign, as well as deadlines for election gatherings, begin on May 13th and end on May 17th.
Delivering the request for accrediting organisations for monitoring elections and observers will begin on 9 April and end 12 May. The appointment of the Municipal Election Commissions (KKZ) will take place on 15 April, voter registration application outside Kosovo begins 25 April and ends on 30 April.
The application for voter registration with special needs will begin 9 May and end 13 May.
