Cakaj meets with important US figures: they support us for EU membership

At this meeting, joint positions were shared on strengthening the Euro-Atlantic union and the fact that this connection has created not only security and stability but also the promises for a sustainable economic development and strengthening political and cultural exchanges.
“The people of countries on both sides of the Atlantic, part of the Alliance, share the same values and aspirations based on principles of democracy, freedom and equality”, the minister in Duty Cakaj said.
Also discussed was political developments in our region and the constructive role Albania has played and continues to play in the function of development and integration of our entire region into Euro-Atlantic structures.
“Albania has always appreciated strategic partnership with the United States, and this partnership represents one of the key elements in foreign policy and Albania's engagement in our region”, Cakaj stressed.
In turn, American Congress Speaker Pelosi said the US has unreservedly supported Albania on its journey to full NATO membership 10 years ago and will continue to do so for Albania's aspirations to join the European Union.
