The bomb was discovered by air force personnel on a routine patrol in Bandanaics, also known as Katonayake Airport.
The bomb has been successfully deactivated, while the airport remained dead during this time.

Otherwise, 207 people died from a series of explosions at hotels and churches of Sri Lanka.

More than 450 others were injured as a result of these explosions, since it was pointed out that there are Indians, Turks, Portuguese, Dutch, and Chinese among the victims.
In connection with these bombings, seven suspects have been arrested.
