Russia in the Balkans wants to achieve even greater influence and is not satisfied with the current situation, especially after Montenegro's entry into NATO, analysts say.

Podgorica Daily newspaper editor Goran Popovic told New Montenegro's M, that Russia is not satisfied with its current treatment and position in the Balkans.

According to him, Montenegro's integration into the EU is very important to protect the country from the influence of foreign powers, Kosovo Press broadcasts.

As he said, political organisations and individuals still exist in Montenegro, who oppose NATO membership and use every opportunity to produce no stability to redefine the decision to membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.

So this is a fact and it's clear that behind these protests are some political organisations that have been guided by outside”, Popovic said.

Political analyst Dusan Janjiq estimates that when it comes to Montenegro and Serbia there is a “significant influence of eastern Russia”.
