Under local, national and European elections, which will be held on May 26th, five Albanian candidates will compete as part of the Socialist Party.
They are Ammet Gianaj, Louise Duraki, Habibe Duraki, Avni Gianaj, and the Gerlica Center.
With the start of the election campaign, Ammet Gianaj, current deputy of the Brussels region, as well as candidate for the European Parliament, confirmed that this is a favourable case for Albanians, in addition to regional and Belgian national parliaments, to have representation in the European Parliament.
“We come with a new offer for the Albanian community, to have representatives at three levels ahead of us, means the European level, where I am the candidate, Belgium's level in the Belgium Parliament and at the Brussels level where three candidates are present. The offer is for the Albanian community to move on with this” scene as soon as possible, he said, Albinfo.ch reported.
Ahmet Gianaj is the first Albanian MP to the Belgium Parliament. All candidates have expressed faithfulness that with the support of Albanians, they will succeed in winning the election.
