Chairman PSD, at the same time chairman of Pristina Shpend Ahmeti, has declared fighting corruption to be the main priority of the Social Democrat Party.
Ahmeti, at a media conference, said it is already known that without fighting corruption Kosovo cannot approach European integration.
He said a large part of the state's wealth goes between politics. According to him, a percentage of public money has not even gone into employment, which has contributed to the departure of young people from the country.
“Fighting corruption is the number one priority PSD and we believe it should be everyone's priority. We believe we have to build systems that prevent. We in the Pristina municipality believe and when we talk about local transparency, we believe it is number one. We publish every document in the municipality, every bill, including lunch and dinner. And that's the best way to figure out how public money is protected. We also publish the permits. And now, finally, we have the open-air system, where every contract in the Pristina municipality is seen, said he.
PSD MP Shqipe Pantina said the ruling coalition parties have no strategy for fighting corruption. Instead of building an independent system, she said these parties have only degraded it, with the appointments of judges and prosecutors.
Pantina also presented steps to be taken in combating corruption.
The steps to be taken are: organising the veto process, a radical transparency in relation to judicial processes, to publish an online platform for publishing all names that are integrated into the justice system, and at the end of forming a task “, she said.
