The country's president, Hashim Thaci, on the 70th anniversary of NATO's establishment, said that today we remember with the deepest respect and gratitude the Alliance's irreplaceable role for the world.
“As a community of peoples and states that work continuously for strengthening peace, NATO continues to reflect more security, co-operation and solidarity for all”, Thaci wrote on Facebook.
The country's president wrote that “we are happy to have NATO in Kosovo, but our wish is that Kosovo too be in NATO”.
We want to continue as a NATO member, and we are working on it indefinitely. In line with all NATO member states, the Republic of Kosovo is already willing to contribute more to peace and stability in the region, Europe and the world”, Thaci concluded.
