Yesterday's opposition protest in Tirana, 7 arrested

Seven people have been arrested by Tirana Police for violent actions on constitutional institutions, police and property destruction during the development of the opposition protest by the Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration yesterday before Parliament. In the press release, police suggest that 20-x0 procedural actions have been conducted on the basis of an analysis of film images, service reports, as well as other evidence gathered by the investigative group”.
According to police, there have been proceedings in the free state and 14 other people, while 6 citizens have been declared on the run.
Police also suggest that DP Secretary General Gazmend White has been prosecuted as organising the protest.
Those arrested are between the ages of 20 and 49 and who are residents of Tirana, Elbasan and Malece.
Police added that they are working on the identification, capture and accountability of other persons who committed violent acts during yesterday's protest.
