Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, said the possibilities for agreement with Kosovo Albanians are “much smaller than they were”, adding that Pristina will not continue the dialogue until the mandate of the current European administration ends.
New elections for European institutions are scheduled to be held at the end of May.
Vuciq reiterated that Pristina would not soon abolish the fee on Serbian and Bosnian goods, while responsible for the situation the EU, which according to him, owns mechanisms that would cost Pristina very dearly but is not implementing.
“Without an agreement with Belgrade, Pristina could never do anything”, the Serbian president said.
He denied that there is a 17-point plan for changing borders with Kosovo.
The Serbian president also said nobody wants an agreement based on the model of two Germanys.
“Albanians no longer want to hear about it, they suspect Russia would accept it in the UN, even if we accept it”, Vuciq said.
Talks between Kosovo and Serbia have been interrupted due to the deployment of the fee to Serbian goods on the part of the Kosovo government. Brussels and Washington are calling for the parties to halt actions that undermine the negotiator process and return to the negotiating table. / TCh/
