US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale will visit Belgrade and Pristina on the next two days.
US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale has said it is likely that an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina will be reached this year.
He has stressed that the solution must bring lasting stability to the region.
“There is the possibility that an agreement will be reached this year, but only if the dialog” is initially continued, Hale told the Serbian daily “Danas”, broadcast the news.net.
Hale, known as “the Trump man” added that: “The U.S. will not prescribe solutions. I believe it should be acceptable for Kosovo and Serbia by bringing lasting stability to the region”.
He has also called for the removal of the tax from Pristina for Serbian goods.
Hale has demonstrated US support for Serbia's European integration path.
He will stay for a visit to Belgrade on Friday, March 8th, and a day later he will arrive for a visit to Kosovo to seek the agreement with Serbia reached.
