The first-instance bias has freed from one point of genocide against the non-Serb population in seven municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but was sentenced to 10 remaining charges, including genocide in Srebrenica.
Karadzic dismissed these charges. However, he declared that he was responsible only for his irrevocable presidentship.

The Hague justice bodies confirmed that the Serbian criminal was aware of the July 1995 murders following the fall of Srebrenica.
Significantly, Karadzic lived in Serbia for many years in hiding. Karadzic received a new identity named Dragan Dabic, also changed his appearance with a beard and long hair. Following considerable pressure from the EU, after 12 years Karadzic was arrested in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.
On March 24, 2016, The Hague Tribunal pronounced the verdict against Karadzic: 40 years in prison. Among other things for crimes against humanity, genocide and siege of Sarajevo.
