Tens of people dead of fire in Dhaka

At least 19 people have died as a result of a large fire involving a building in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.

Seventy people were injured, fire spokesman told the BBC.

Firefighters are now said to have entered the building, as fire has been brought under control.

The death toll could rise, as dozens are believed to be stranded in the 19-story building.

Fire incidents are frequent in Bangladesh because of severe conditions in the buildings of this country.

Hundreds of people have died as a result of this type of incidents only last year in this country.
