Slovakia for the first time in history becomes president

Mrs. Capuova, who has almost no political experience, defeated top-profile diplomat Maros Sefcovic, who was the party candidate currently in power in Slovakia.
These elections were held a year after an investigative journalist was killed last year. Jan Kuciac was investigating politicians' connections to organised crime when he was shot at with firearms in February 2018.
Capuova had said that killing this journalist is one of the reasons why he has prompted him to run for president of the country, though this post is more of a ceremonial nature.
When almost all votes have been counted, it has delivered 58 percent of the votes, while its counterCandidate won 42 percent of them.
It became known by practicing the lawyer's profession, especially when it led a case against an illegal waste burial process, which lasted 14 years.
Slovakia's new president is 45-year-old, mother of two and divorced. She is a member of the “party Slovakia Progressive”, which has no seat in the assembly.
In the first round of elections, it had won 40 percent of the vote, while the other candidate, who is vice president of the European Commission, only 19 percent, writes “BBC”
