A spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office in Dusseldorf said authorities are looking for possible connection between the arrested persons and the militant group, the Islamic State (IS).
“We suspect that they are part of the IS or sympathies of this group”, the spokesman said.
Suspects have been sent to custody.
The Dpa news agency has quoted officials who have said that one of the suspects is from Tajikistan, while the nationality of other arrested persons is still unknown. /rel
