Trump has said through a Twitter post on March 21st that it is time for the US to recognise “fully” Israel's sovereignty in the region Israel occupied by Syria in 1967.
Netanyah has later thanked the American president for his statements on the issue.
At the time Iran seeks to use Syria as space to destroy Israel, President Trump recognizes Israel's sovereignty at the Golan” Heights, Netanyah has said, which has claimed Iran is using this region to carry out attacks in Israel.
Turkey, Iran and Syria have condemned Trump's statements, while Russia has said it hopes the American president's comments will remain “just calling”.
Israel in 1967 has occupied territory from Syria to space of 1,800 square miles [1,800 sq km] at the Golan Heights during what is known as the Six - Day War.
In 1981, Israel has expanded its laws in this region, annexing it, step that is not recognised by the international community.
Trump's statement has come less than a month before general elections in Israel are held, the process in which Netanyah faces fierce challenge from former military chief Benny Gantz, who is now head of the centrist party.
Netanyah has said on March 25th that he will stay for a very short time in the US, following a missile attack near Tel Aviv.
He has said he will travel to Israel immediately after completing his meeting with Trump.
