MTI and IFC with joint project to support local manufacturer

Shala stressed that the IFC confirmed that it will soon begin with a new project that will support local producers, mainly in the technological producer, which enables their empowerment and job creation.
The topic of debate was also the exchange of experiences in attracting investments with countries similar to Ireland. The strengthening of mechanization for dealing with complaints for investors, to be done within the framework of the National Economic Development Council, was also estimated. The Ministry of Trade and Industry is grateful to the IFC and the Swiss Government for the support so far, and we are willing to continue co-operation in projects waiting for us to positively influence the country's economic development”, the minister said.
Minister Shala stressed that the MTI is very satisfied with bilateral co-operation in implementing the “Investment Climate Enhancing 2 ʹthe second phase” that is being implemented by the IFC/World Bank and aimed at supporting technical assistance in realising activities that connect with continued support of KIESA, ARBK and other MTI agencies for improving the business climate and attracting foreign direct investment, as well as developing the more private sector in Kosovo.
“MTI also co-chairs the National Council for Economic Development and in co-operation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, we have also established the KKHE Technical Secretary. We agreed in advance with IFC officials that under this secretariat we also have a hearing for the handling of Ankes coming from investors operating in Kosovo”, Shala said.
While Damien Shiels confirmed that soon IFC will start with a new project to support local producers, affecting the opening of new jobs.
