The endangered government of Nicolas Maduros has declared persona non grata German ambassador and has ordered him to leave the country within 48 hours until the political crisis in Venezuela has intensified, writes Periscope.
The decision to expel Daniel Kreener from last year's working in Caracas had been announced on Twitter by Venezuela's Foreign Minister Jorge Arreza.
Arreza said the decision was based on Kriener's actions, which had been “repeated intervention in domestic affairs”.
In a statement, the Maduro administration accused the Creener and the German government of being among those who recognised Maduro's rival Guaido as a legitimate Venezuelan leader month's qualms as an illegal blend in Venezuela's affairs.
“As a result, Mr. Kriener is giving a 48-hour deadline to release the territory of Venezuela's Boyvarian Republic,”, said in the statement.
The German Foreign Office said: “we can confirm that Ambassador Daniel Kriener has been declared “persona non grata”.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has condemned such a decision. /Periscopi
