Heavy fighting broke out during yesterday's day until US-backed forces attacked the last ISIS base in Syria to end their existence.
A CNN team in Syria, Periscopi records, witnessed air strikes and explosions at Baghouz after the Syrian Defence Forces operation began at 6 p.m. local time.
Forces spokesman Mustafa Bali said on Sunday's Twitter that their forces were engaged in “direct violent violence” and that plans were to attack weapons depots.
Also during yesterday, Bali wrote that the time I'd warriors SIS's surrender was over, and SDF forces were willing to end what was left in the hands of ISIS.
Before this offensive, SDF officials estimated there were about 1500 civilians and 500 ISIS soldiers, but the latest attacks could have killed most of them.
