Haradinaj says Serbia obstructing Trepca census, has call for Serb miners

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj called on Trepca miners from the Serbian community not to fall prey to official Belgrade.

Haradinaj says registering the Trepca company is a matter of days.

“The statue is approved, now the administrative part, is under way, could happen in two days or even weeks. So what is innovation, something new and something that is deserved, miners are not only workers anymore, but they are also Trepca's owners. 20 per cent of Trepca's overall shares are of miners, Albanians and Serbs in the north as well. It calls on miners of Kosovo's ethnic Serb affiliation to gain legal rights and not to fall to Belgrade's influence over their status as shareholder”, Haradinaj has said.

Although Kosovo authorities have reserved three seats aboard Trepca for the Serb community, the leaders of this giant in northern Mitrovica refuse to give responsibility to the Trepca board.

Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has said that the Inquisition of the Serb minority aboard the Trepca board is envisioned due to Trepca's importance in northern Mitrovica.

While university professor Muhamet Sadiku says Trepca resources are an integral part of Kosovo's resources, so if resources are violated in the northern part that would indicate that territorial integrity could be violated.

Professor Sadiku says there is no room to release pens in this direction, because Trepca must be within Kosovo's economic integrity.

“The statue is a good guide for the judicial regulation of many cases, but let us wait for how this statute will be implemented. The main idea of the statute is that Trepca must be an economic, technological, metallurgy, productive and exporter whole. Any deviation from this concept is highly unacceptable”, he says.

While the chairman of the Trepca Board, Ardian Syla, has not responded to the problems of registering Trepca Company.
