The member of this commission, delegated by the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Gashi, has indicated that the work of this committee has been officially completed from today and that the matter of the Lumbard project is subsequently suspended.
Honoured citizens, the meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the Lumbardz Project was just held, according to Prime Minister Haradinaj's request, our response to the commission, which has been followed by the response of all citizens, was also officially decided to suspend the work of this Commission, which, in turn, implies the suspension of all procedures for the Lumbard power project.”, wrote Fatmir Gashi.
Recently, much was debated over the construction of hydropower plants at the Peja Lumbardhin but was followed by numerous protests among residents.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj on 25 February has called for the disruption of the construction of hydropower plants in Lumbardh.
This project was launched on 18 October 2013 in an agreement between the municipality and Kelpkos company for the construction of five hydropower plants in Rugova villages for about 120m euros.
