A spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office in Dusseldorf said authorities are verifying possible links between the arrested persons and the militant Islamic State group.
“We suspect they're part of I SIS it or sympathies of this organisation”, the spokesman said.
The detainees are in custody. The DPA news agency quoted local officials as claiming that one of the suspects is from Tajikistan, while the nationality of others has not yet been learned.
